About us

A blasting rig built for machines, based where the machines are.

Mount Vernon Sandblasting is a mobile abrasive blasting service based in Mount Vernon, New York, serving southern Westchester County and the Bronx corridor: heavy machinery, roll-off containers, trailers, plow fleets, and structural and ornamental steel, blasted and primed where they sit. That sentence is the whole business; the rest of this page is how we run it.

The service grew out of a simple observation from years of buying, fixing, and reselling equipment: the machines are here. Contractor yards line the Saw Mill corridor in Yonkers, roll-off boxes stack up around Hunts Point, plow fleets salt every village from New Rochelle to Tarrytown, and all of that steel rusts on a schedule. So the rig was built around exactly that work: come to the yard, work machine by machine, and put the price in front of you before you ever pick up the phone.

How we quote

Every number starts on the published price table: hourly rate, mobilization by distance, and per-machine and per-foot ranges for the common jobs. Photos texted to (914) 295-0821 get a same-day number, the quote names anything that could move it (buried rust, lead-era paint, tight access), and the invoice matches the quote. Budget questions get answered on the first call, not after a site walk.

How we work

The rig is self-contained: compressor, pot, media, containment, and primer travel together, so blast-and-prime happens in one visit before flash rust starts. Dust gets controlled with wet methods and sheeting, spent media leaves with us, and older coatings that might carry lead get full containment and regulated disposal rather than a shortcut. OSHA’s silica rules are why modern rigs run crushed glass and slag instead of sand, and we run ours that way everywhere, including your yard.
